Default Buying on Grand Isle?

What's the skinny with buying property on Grand Isle?

I have heard some places you can rent, some you can't
If you have to finance you have to raise the camp

???

If you want flood insurance you will have to have it at a FEMA specified elevation. If you are financed, they will require flood insurance.

Way to go in MHO is get a nice camper.. Then rent a space.. If hurricane comes?? U go get Ur camper...

My friend purchased a very nice small trailer space, and had an awesome fifth wheel.. Slept 6 easy.. He used it for his drivers to stay in during week when thru were delivering oilfield chemicals on the island... Totally write off. Things got so good. He brought a 300K camp... Sold camper and lot... Oilfield went south for small companies.. Expensive camp is for sale.. He told me he regrets selling that 5th wheel..

There are peps that will pull ur camper for U at so much a mile.. So u really don't have to own a 3/4 or 1 ton truck... Again MHO..

And there are some VERY nice 5th wheel campers out there. Pure Luxury with some of them. Full size kitchens and baths. Living room, etc.
