Default Shipping Container Construction
Does anyone have insight into building construction using shipping containers? I'm interested in the thought of using this approach to build a fishing camp and it's difficult to locate info on it.

I haven't ever seen one in Louisiana and just curious if anyone has????

They run anywhere from $1,000 to $6,000 depending on size and if used. Shipping is roughly $600 per container.

If you search you can find some amazing houses that have been built with containers....

Homsis on brod st in lc has two connected used for storage and an office...he boarded the inside..lights..ac..etc...my co worker bought on and put it in his backyard and planted big shrubs around it..got iy sittn on two telephone poles laying down cut to length...also made a workshop in it...

Better check out codes and such. If you want elect. and water in Cameron Parish, you will have to meet elevation code or be more mobile like an RV or Camper.
If you are up on higher ground, I don't think you will have any problems, except you will have to install a mechanical sewer and get electric pole and sewer inspection before they will let you have power and water. FEMA really screwed things up after Rita.

I love them blue prints, I'm pretty sure you would have to have that wired before anything went into it.....and is that tide gaurd painted on it before the final coat?

price on containers has gone up. been looking for a 8x8 for months and cant find anything lower than 2k.
