Got to Calcasieu Point about 11am with a friend and his son from Baton Rouge. The plan was to catch the falling tide and the afternoon feeding period. It was my first trip to Big Lake this year. Fished north part of BL and scratched out some reds and flounder. Main bait was baby 1 minus crankbaits. Only caught one 11" speck. Water was marginal where we were. Suppose water is better down south but wind got bad so we did not make the run.
First red and flounder this young man ever caught so that was cool. About 6 pm the feeding period started as the moon was rising higher in the sky and that's when we caught most of our fish. They were busting small pogies. Tough fishing but a good day. 10 reds and 3 flounder was our final count. EC

Looks like a good time.

I've always said that luck comes in all forms, and just because you may not have caught the fish you wanted, it doesn't mean you were not lucky
