I copied and just pasted it here from another site

Good morning everyone my name is Shaun and I know a few of you have already heard of our Redfish series that we are about to start here in Louisiana. I first want to say thank you to all the guys who put in a lot of hours on this and that will continue to put in many, many hours to this series. A lot of late night meetings went into this to decide just how we would start these tournaments.

I will first start by explaining how the 2014 season will go then give some details on what we have planned and committed for the 2015 Series. We know we can not please everyone but we have thought about every option to a tournament series to be fair.

The two tournaments for 2014 will be basically to test the waters and see just how many would love to actually have a series for the die hard mud motor boat owners. This is a growing experience for everyone so we will consider changes for the 2015 season.

Talking with Louisiana WLF, CCA, and costal businesses we want to make sure that we hold these events in sportsmanship manner. To have the support of all these great Louisiana services we have to follow rules and conservation.

The first tournament for 2014 will be held in Cocodrie, La. Date and Marina will be released soon but I can say it will be in the month of June. Its open to all mudmotor boat brands, longtail, surface drive, stick steer and tillar handle. It will be 2 man teams, $200.00 team entry, Weigh-in 2 reds under 26". Artificial baits. We will also have a optional Fish will be weighed LIVE or DEAD for the first tournaments. 90% payout, 10% going to a local charity. Teams will only be allowed to weigh two Redfish

We know that most Mud Motor Boats DO NOT have live wells. We have discussed this with so many helpful organizations and for our series to grow we will eventually grow into a LIVE only weigh-in tournament. For now we allow fish to be live or dead to be weighed. Now, we understand the situation and have dealt with a few good companies who will help all who want to participate in the Series in 2015 with showing the low cost of adding a removable 10 to 18 gallon live well to boats. Being the MudMotor community is such a large family we have to follow conservation for redfishing. We want to make sure that we are allowed to have a tournament series that upholds to all Louisiana Organizations.

MMO Redfish Series will use the two tournaments this season to tweak any gaps for the 2015 series. 2015 series will consist of two/three tournaments with a Championship Series for the top 10 Teams. Tournament locations have already been set and the tournaments will be held in April, June and August. With a possible first tournament in February. We will have awards for team of the year, Lady of the year and kid of the year. This will be a points series.. We will also introduce a speck division for 2015

We will release all rules, locations, facebook, website, marinas, and all other information in the next two to three weeks for the 2014 tournaments. Our sponsors for this season who we are so grateful to have and are in full support of our series have put up some great prizes. Along with the 2015 series a brand new boat, motor and trailer will be up for grabs!

We hope everyone will join us for these series and we know it will be a great event for the mudmotor community. We will keep everyone up to date with news and event information. Be on the look out for our facebook and website info.

If fish can be weighed dead they should set the size the morning of the tourney similar to how gator tail does.

Is he joking....... they have more redfish in the marsh than ever. 2 dead fish will not hurt anything. And why the 26" limit?

I mean I don't understand your questions..

Every redfish tournament I fished in your only allowed to weigh two reds and usually 26".. From what I heard from one of the bigger sponsors they moving in the direction to have it live weigh-ins only so having two is hard enough to keep alive.. Now being the first tournaments will be live or dead then I can see having your limits.. I think this is awesome for the mudmotor community they had a crazy list of 36 boats so far

I don't of any mud boats with a livewell is what I'm saying. Why move to a Live weigh in, that will certainly curtail your tournament participants. Also, every tournament I've ever fished the slot redfish was 27" and under. No big deal to me, I don't plan on fishing them, I don't have a mud boat, just bored at work.

Yea your right I don't know may be a typo on the 26" but I think they are going to switch to a slot announcement on tournament day from the emails I've sent to the director.. Because the number of boats they have who they say signed up will throw red flags to Louisiana organizations for weighing dead fish.. WLF, CCA etc, etc want to see tournaments support conservation and will support tournaments that follow this.. It doesn't bother me or my buddies who want to fish because a livewell isn't anything to put in and run some oxygen to

Simple to make a "live well" out of a big ice chest.
