New rod search
I've felt the Duckett ghost 7' med. And like the feel of it. Saw the ABU verosity online but haven't found one on the shelf to feel. Any insight to either of these rods? |

I have a Verocity, I'm not sure that I don't like the Veritas better. My current favorite is a St. Croix legend Bass.

How is the verocity and veritas weight wise?

I have a ducket ghost rod paired paired with the team lewd reel and love it. Well balanced rod and a great price point

Will be putting a Lews TP on whatever I get. That's all I use

I have 4 Duckett's and they all have Lew's Tourney Pro's on them (Except for the spinning rod) I love them. They are all ghosts. I have a 7' Medium that is just as nice as it's $150 Shimano counterpart.

Thanks for the info. I'm leaning toward the ghost

DO NOT GET THE GHOST! Braid will eat the eyes up! I fish with flouro and mono and that even ate the eyes up. Look at Falcon Bucoo, by far my favorite rod between $100-120. Light, sensitive, great eyes, good reel seat, and I've slammed mine against the trolling motor a few times without harm. |

My Veritas is 6'6" and my Veracity is 7'3", so weight feels similar as you hold them. If you're looking for extremely light weight, I'm not sure either one of them is the right choice.

I forgot to mention prior to buying the 7' bucoo, the Shimano Cumera was also my favorite rod.
I thought the Veritas was a decent lightweight rod, but I hated the eyes and the reel seat. The reel seat forever got loose on you, and the eyes were extremely brittle, not too mention the rod itself would break extremely easily. I literally broke 5 of those rods by just fishing, setting hooks and throwing fish in the boat and what not. I've only broken maybe 3 other rods by fishing and they were all different brands, and one for sure was my fault. |

I looked on line at the bucoo micro. Looks and sounds legit. Hopefully LC Tackle has one I can feel.

both Academys in Lafayette had a few. The other rods in the duckett family are nice btw. I have the $160 and the $200 white ice ones, but I don't find them extremely nice or anything just nice rods. I don't see myself spending $200 on those rods again though. The 160 ones are pretty good for flipping bass baits around. The tips just a little stiffer than the bucoos, but I typically throw my soft plastics, cranks, spinners, and topwaters on my bucoo. The 7' medium action bucoo is a blast for fishing for trout, there's so much bow in it when you set the hook, its awesome! lol

I have been using Waterloo rods about 8 or 9 years now and I'm still using them !
Speaks for itself

Jpeff been saying that but I've got a ghost that I've caught bull reds Jacks a Ling and tons of trout and slots all on braid and never had issue at all with the guides

Maybe the older ghosts used different eyes?

Not sure. I use my ghost for reds and big topwaters like super spooks.
I drop the hammer on fish with that rod. Last time he said that I inspected the crap out of the guides and I didn't see any wearing. I've had that rod about 4 years. |

I'm going to compare the ghost, bucoo and the waterloo to see what feels best in my hands.
