My core is great but I've had to have it rebuilt 3-4 times because I can't keep it out of tge water but very light and casts a mile, I can empty a spool on my 50mg with a cast, my chronarch 100d7 is also great very smooth and I've never had a problem with it but it is heavier than the core . If u get a chronarch order last years model tge 100d7 not tge new one , it is just a e7 curado painted white n black!

Neither. Both new models are junk. Core corrodes in a year. New chronarch is a peice of s h i t. Had a handle fall off in 3 days. Core is severely overpriced, severely. Buy a citca. Cheap, then bring it to a shop, replace bearings; boom- a curado. But, of you can, but a chronarch 100d7, or 5. You can turn a 5 into a 7.

BD...what is the weight on the Citca?

My core 50mg are all over 2 years old and I had trouble with one ....and changed barring in all of them, my rod and reel is feather light... Taking a guess less than 2lbs

But I don't think you can get a lighter reel

One of our guides has a Lew's reel. Loves it. Doesn't hold up to everyday use. But, the other major problem, no one around here works on them or has parts. Less than 9 months old and you can't turn the handle cause of corrosion.

I agree 110%. the core is the lightest on the market. One of mine was corroding near spring one the opposite side of the handle. It is actually making a hole. They need new bearings every year, in my opinion.

And I'm not sure of the weight of the citica. It's heavier than the core and Chronarch, but more comparable to a curado.
