Default spinning reel question

I have a 2008-09 spinning reel that i just found. I bought 2 of them back then and used one and planned on using the other after another reel went out but somehow lost it and the other day i found it in my garage. anyway the reel is one of my favorites i have ever used but the one i just found the grease on the underside of the spool looks old and dry. It is fairly smooth to spin but not as free as the other which i have had serviced and still use as a back up. anyway should i just get it serviced to be re-greased and lubricated or will just using it get the grease spread back through out the reel to make it smoother. any advice appreciated. thanks

I would use and see if it loosens up. If not, get it cleaned. Nothing lost.
