Default Pending state record: Speckled Hind Grouper

There have been few good-weather fishing days in 2010, but Blake Matherne made the best of one Jan. 22. Matherne was rig fishing in the South Pass 90 area aboard the Funny Shoes II when he hooked into something heavy in 500 feet of water. After a tough fight and a long cranking session, Matherne landed this 32-pound speckled hind, which has been submitted as a possible new state record.

Rock Hinds have the red spots.
Speckled Hinds have grayish spots.
Both have some very nice white meat.

That's a cool looking fish. Almost looks like a bass except for color. How many types of grouper are there?

Prolly 20 or so.
Them don't usually catch bigger than 5 to 10 lbs.
