Default 3-9-13 - Bannanas anyone?

Took a trip out of Venice with Capt. Eddie Burger Saturday. Left the dock at 5:30. We had 5 in our crew with two new guys that had never been offshore fishing. The Gulf was rough from the get go and the seas built as the day went on. It was steady 3'-5' which made for a very wet day.

When we got to the first spot started trolling for wahoo and hooked up within 2 minutes. One of the new guys fights him for 10+ minutes and right when the deckhand lean over with the gaff the hook pulls out.

We continuue trolling around 3 more rigs and go 1-4 on wahoo. The one we landed was 50-60# range.

At this point Capt Eddie says we musthave some bad luck because we were missing so many fish.

We fish the rest of the day and pick up some BF, 3 AJ, and 3 YF at the last spot. Once again we had doubled up on what seemed to be some 75-100# YF only to both have our hooks pull after 15 minutes into the fight.

As we are getting situated to head in Capt. Eddie goes into the ice chest to grab a water and starts hollering. "Who the Hell brought Bannanas?!?"

We had forgot to tell the new guys no bannanas allowed. Well Capt. Eddie passed by one of his friends boats and threw the bannanas at them and we headed in.

A long day on the water but always have a blast with Capt. Eddie and we brought home plenty fish to hold us over until next year.

I took the box shot as capt eddie was getting ice out of the other compartment to put on top of fish.

They keep ice seperate so they can layer ice bw fish.

I'm not superstitious but I DO NOT allow bananas on the boat seen to many mishaps with them on board
