Default Sulphur Area Hotels

Our 8U travel team is going to be playing in Sulphur from July 3rd to 7th at Frash Park.

Any decent Hotels in that area close to the park?

Any reccomendations for a group of 8 year olds to do when we not playing ball in the area?

Sulphur has a cool waterpark that they would likely enjoy.

all the hotels in sulphur are about the same, the newer ones that is. Holiday inn express types, no Drury's. The aquatic center is with in eye sight of frasch park. Has a water park that is really good for kids that age. Other than that it will take a trip to lake charles for movies, putt putt, or bowling etc. only takes about 15 minutes to get to any of the formentioned activities from sulphur. where are you guys from? we have a couple 8u teams here in sulphur that will probably be playing.

If that's the World Series weekend you better book now in sulphur. Holiday inn express is nice. What 8u team? My youngest son plays 8u, Louisiana Reign

I seen the waterpark on the Sulphur Parks website, Looks nice.

T-Top these kids are from Lafourche-Terrebonne Parish. Name of our team is the XLR8 Chargers. Playing our first USSSA tournamnet this weekend. We played a Grand Slam event a few weekends ago and did okay for our first tournament as team. We have a couple kids that haven't played wide open baseball and it was kind of a shock to them.

Spoony I'll look into LaBarge prices.

What about camp grounds in that area? We have 4 kids whose parents/grandparents have access to motorhomes.

SWT that is the World Series, I'll book today at a couple places to make sure.

Our team.... http://www.usssa.com/sports/Team3.asp?TeamID=1904914

Camp grounds off the top of my head, Sam Houston Park in Moss Bluff. About 15-min to sulphur.

Looks like yall been together a while. Hopefully we get there one day. We have some talent and been seeing a lot of improvement since we started. Our coach managed a AA team and was a hitting coach on the AAA level. He really know his baseball and he speaks to the kids on there level.

Thanks LCD. I'll look into it. A cabin might be the way to go.

If you call L auberge Du Lac Casino and block of rooms now, you rates could be a lot cheaper and kids and parents would have plenty to do. Probably most bang for the buck there! Also for like $30 a night you can park RV's and campers at the casino.

A+ RV park is a couple mile down the road from frasch on hwy27. Its new has a pool and cover pavillion, not cajun palms but its clean.

Thanks T-Top. I seen A+ has 5 star rating on Trip Advisor. Sam Houston Park is $18 a night for camp sites and $85 for cabins that sleep 6 I can't get on L' Barge site here at work. I'll check into it later

Their cabin rates are pretty good. Keep in mind you got 8 year olds and there isnt any tv lol. On a good note it will get them outside.

A few for 3 years and the rest for 2. I helped coach last year but only assist in practices now. I have a 12u as well and missed to many of his games last year. Our head coach pitched in collage but the rest of us just wing it.

If we decide to go that route I promise you I will have more of a problem getting him to come inside. Kid looks like an Aborigine in the summer. He's bummed out right now, he whiped out on a scooter Saturday trying to jump a ramp and has 2 black eyes and the entire right side of his face is scraped up. He's a trooper though. He didn't complain much.

A+ is a motel and RV campground. Never heard a complaint about it yet.

L'auberge has a great RV park and its only like $25 a night and you have access to the pool and lazy river. Yogi Bear RV park is great for kids as there is a pool and water park for younger kids. Also canoing and paddle boating and fishing in their lakes. They have activities all weekend for July 4th. They have cabins for rent, too. It is only about 20 minutes from this park to Sulphur. I would definately book now for that time of year.
