Dularge Reds
appear that way from my perspective at 6:00 am this morning as I lay hunched over the top of my engine twisting and prying out a derelict crab trap entangled in my prop. After a few choice words to myself and 30 minutes later we were off to the races. On board the Skeeter today was Mr. Larry Jones and his blind date, Ms. Claire. I had big shoes to fill, but I promised Larry they would have a most enjoyable day. Traveling through bayous in the marsh showed signs of low tide and drains were nearly devoid of water. I glanced at the sonar and noted a water temperature of 46.6. I knew the trout were gonna be difficult to convince them to eat, however, my plan started to develop as I neared the shallow ponds of the upper Dularge marsh. Last night I stopped at Capt. Tommy's house and was introduced to the new High Life Tackle Anchovy colors - Green Onion, Natural Minnow, Yellowmouth Gold, Coco Pepper, and Blue and Gold. I had each different one tied on and armed with a jighead. First stop, first cast and BAM! Redfish. I quickly changed to another color and 2 more came in back to back. Claire and Larry were hammering on the reds one after the other. Green Onion caught the most but all of the other colors produced fish. This new soft plastic has an ultra realistic action with a flat back that runs true! No flip flopping over! We finished our limit of 15 early and tagged and released over 20 reds! Crazy action in Bayou Dularge, Louisiana! Capt. Rob 225-776-9820 Check me out at: www.facebook.com/impulsefishing |
