Good note... if you get out there be careful.. try to find a little protection at least for running the boat. Its usually not too bad back in the marsh. I like to find where it's a med to small marsh pond and still use the wind and wave action to my advantage. redfish will use that wind current to their advantage to feed. I'm not saying to do that on the lake tho, I don't fish in three foot breaking surf... just the fringe where it starts to move water along a bank.. doesn't take much and you'll find more fish there than on the total lee side of a marsh pond.
ya'll have fun out there, be safe. |

I've kicked my weather wrecking skills up a notch. Traveled up to fish Cocodrie Thursday and Friday. Actually caught pretty well on both trout and reds Thursday but got bounced a bit on the ride in. Friday only stayed out a couple of hours . . . fully charged 80# trolling motor wouldn't track against wind/current. Coco Marina parking lot was filling with water at about 10:30.
Stayed in Houma for some rodbuilding stuff Saturday and heard they closed a couple of the flood gates. My buddy told me if I was an indian my name would be Wind Maker. Oh well, boiled crawfish Saturday were good! I may be back in summer to give you guys another weekend off. |
