Anyone know of a rifle range within reasonable driving distance of Lafayette? I?ve shot at Sherburn a few times but looking to shoot farther than just 100 yards. Free is good but also don?t mind one that requires a membership or range fees.

I can't verify this but I was told that the Fusilier complex requires a range safety officer (RSO) to be present when one is using the range; this can limit the use if true. ERGC and Palo Alto do not require an RSO to be present but you must be certified to shoot on the 600yd range. EDIT- Eunice also includes a skeet range with a high/low tower/ all weather firing points....first class equipment. You pay per round shot. |

The range in Lake Charles is the Lake Charles Gun Club. Its has targets to 600 yds but the whole range has to be shut down when you go down to look at or change targets. There isn't an all weather road so if it is wet you may have to walk to the target. Membership required.
I belong to the Golden Triangle Gun Club in Beaumont. It has 100, 200, and 600 yd targets. The 600 yd target has a road to it and you can leave someone in the pits to mark your target while you shoot. Membership required. They are having a 600 yd NRA F class match this Saturday if the weather is good. It is held the 4th Saturday of each month. Let me know if you want to go over there sometime and we can choose a day. What caliber are you shooting? What kind of rifle scope do you have? |

Thanks, I appreciate the info. I?ll probably join the one in Eunice but if I decide to go to LC I?ll hit you up. I shoot a .223 wssm, 7 wsm, and buying a 7mm-08 next week. On the 223 I just have a Nikon BDC right now but upgrading next week to something better just not sure exactly what yet. On the 7mm I have a Swarovski Z-3 4x12x50 and on the 7mmx08, I?m thinking about going all out and putting a Nightforce. |

I forgot about ERGC. I looked them up and see that they only have a facebook page as far as I can tell. I?ll more than likely join there. Can you bring a guest for free when you go or does it cost extra? I?d love to bring my nephew with me most of the time. |

I?m also a member at LCGC. They have steel out to 600yds. Membership is 150 per year for families. They have trap. Sporting clays, pistol range out to 50yds and rifle 100-600. Also a cowboy range. I shoot some LPP matches from time to time. I wish there was a range close by that you could shoot out to 1500 but I?m in the wrong state for that.

Man yall memberships are high.
Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Rifle Range is $100 a year and Terrebonne is about the same. Lafourche has out to 200 yards but its not covered, Pistol and 100 yard lanes are covered. Terrebonne only has out to 100 but everything is covered. |

I'm a member of SW Louisiana Rifle and Pistol club. Rifle and pistol side is covered, concrete benches and so forth. Our dues is 100 per year but our rifle range is only 200 yards. |

Look up Wilton derouen in lake Arthur. He has a nice range with targets out to 400 yards. I think he charges $20 a gun.
