Default Salty cajun Christmas ,East side Family

The east side family this year is a bit different than last.
The family this year consist of grandma and the grand daughter she has raised since being a baby.
The grandmother is a co worker of mine . They lost everything but some clothes and their vehicle in the flood after hurricane Issac.
FEMA has turned her down for any help and has said no on 3 appeals
They have been living w/ friends / family since the storm
The company we work for is working on getting them a used trailer and getting it moved in and raised / leveled.
The grand daughter is in H.S. My thoughts about nominating them for a Salty cajun Christmas is two fold. If we at SC take care of thier Christmas ,then the money that our Co. would have spent can go to the home.
This is an odd Christmas ,as we don;t need toys or presents.
I got to talk to the Young lady ,and when i asked her .What would you like Santa to bring you for Christmas?
The only answer i got was ,MY OWN ROOM AGAIN!
The wife and i are going to take care of the Christmas dinner for them and the folks they are living with right now . I hope to find out a few things they may want before the 10th
I do know that they have no appliances in the trailer we are purchasing. I am donating a extra clothes dryer i have.
If anyone has any extra appliances or furniture that is in decent shape would you consider donating that???
we will be buying a few presents for them so they will have something under the tree but they need stuff for the trailer.
Looks like we will have the trailer purchased and on site by Christmas . We are going to TRY to have it complete By Dec 24 But that is a stretch,
Like i said, This is not the normal Buy toys and bikes Christmas family.
I know this is a different Christmas family than normal ,But They could really use the help.
Thanks for y'alls help!!!

We have good refrigerator to donate. It's a side-by-side and has an ice/water dispenser that works well. We just upgraded it and was about to sell it. We can deliver it. Just let me know.

I live in lake charles and we have a computer desk and office chair brand new in my shed. I'm not sure if they coould use it, but if they can it's theirs. I will also ask around if anybody has any furniture that they are willing to donate.

If any west side guys have furniture or appliances to donate if you could get them to Crowley then I'll bring them to Eman or Corey to cut down on everyone's travel time.

I'll be making the trip any way, I just have to see how much stuff I've got in storage.

Sounds good about the driver. Just let us know when he's passing through Scott to pick up the fridge. No rush.

I have to go get their washing machine sometime this week. I'll keep it at the shop and load it on George's truck one day while he is here delivering.
