Default shrimp season opens

Just heard on the local news that shrimp season opened at 6 pm tonight so the shrimpers can get a jump on the oil spill. It's projected to reach the coast in a couple days. If I made a living from saltwater in the St. Bernard/Plaquemine/Grand Isle area....I'd be concerned.

I think I would be out there trying to figure out a way to net that oil instead of shrimp.

It sells for a lot more

It ain't lookin' good. The "slick" is supposed to reach the Sound tomorrow. If it truly does reach the coast.....that area will be toast for a couple of years.

I say we have a shrimp party in the gulf if they light the oil on fire. All we need is a bunch of seasoning and beer. On a serious note,I hope it does not mess up the area too bad for the guys that make a living on the water.
