Default 7-17-17 Trout and Redfish limits

Launched boat at Calcasieu Point and headed out around 530. Was dark without much moon and it behind clouds along with Mike saying Sunday afternoon that Heberts didn't have much shrimp so I decided it best to run to Spicers for live bait and top off fuel. Left there headed north and thru Texaco cut back to the northeast corner. Trout action was fast and fun from daylight, 615ish, and up until 715. Bite slowed some and I couldn't quit thinking about those bigger trout we caught last Wednesday at that cut so after boxing 15 trout we headed for the cut. No tide. No trout. About the time I was gonna leave the redfish showed up. We quickly boxed our limit of reds and decided to go hunt for more trout. Went to commissary Point and water was pretty but didn't see much action there. I asked dad if he wanted to run south or fish our way back to launch. I mean it's only 9:00 and have already had a good day so rather than get caught in a thunderstorm or run all the way down there and get hot and miserable we decided to go back to reef we first stopped at. Well they were not on the reef but were just to the south of it and we quickly boxed our 2nd limit of trout. I lost a 5 pound plus and I'm being modest dad thinks it was over 6! We got a great look at it slowly swimming away as hook pulled out its mouth. I was sick!! Lol. Anyway 10:45- 11:00 we are under top just cruising back to launch eating and drinking enjoying the shade and the cool breeze. I pulled up at my house at noon and hit my recliner to give my report. Now I'm going to eat something hot and probably get a quick nap in. It was another awesome trip on calcasieu lake! Again was only boat fishing north end. See wat kind of pics I got but dad kept all the fish and will send a pics back to me later.

And I'd like to get on them around ur area. We were talking today about chartering the ones that take the sea planes out and wade.

Great report and great job. I think the trout action is likely to stay steady until just before i make my next trip. 😀

It was a great morning. Clouds covered sun for most part and calm.

Make sure you're sitting down when you ask for the price of that trip...
