Default Where can I cast net for Pogies near CP landing

Looking for a flume or cut near Calcasieu point landing to cast net for pogies and live bait. I know about the one by L'auberge casino but that is a fur drive by boat.

If you do not want to put it on here, PM me.

Thanks

After you launch at Cal. Pt, head toward Turner's Bay. When you get in the ship channel there are rocks along the east bank. Keep going to the end of the rocks. Don't throw a cast net by the rocks because it will get hung up on the rocks.

Go a little past the rocks to the south. There should be plenty of schools of shad and some finger mullet in that area.

If you run out of bait while on the lake......just start look around and you should be able to find some bait schooling.

There is a little cut into the marsh a couple hundred yards on the north side of the canal across from Calc Pt as soon as you put in. Go in there if you can and there are tons of pogies in there.

You can usually just ride the canals and see them flicking and catch all you want. Some are the really big ones though.
