Eek Carp on the Calcasieu

My son and I were fishing in Dan's Bay and as we were idling out a huge Asian Carp jump out of the water right next to my boat. This is my first experience with these fish. Just asking to see if anyone else has seen them lately. If i had to guess the fish was 15lbs or more.

Not good at all! There are places in Henderson that you better be careful if you are ideling in shallow water. Had one about 20-25 lbs jump in my boat and broke some rods.

The carp were getting bad in the Atchafalaya basin back before 2011. When the Mississippi river flood gates were opened that May.... it must have flushed them on down to the Gulf of Mexico.

I did see a couple of the carp about a year ago in the basin up by I-10.
