Default Was there last week.....

but was fishing from a boat. Was only able to fish one morning for about an hour before the winds kicked up and drove us off. Caught 5 nice trout in the Gorilla Hole, but due to weather, was never able to get back over there. If you're gonna wade it, the waves might not be a problem for you as it was for us.

Gorillaville is a 2 mile + walk from where you have to park. the beach is not open to vehicles and from what i have been hearing thru the grapevine it may not ever be opened back up for vehicles

Been there this past weekend. Leaving today. Some guys that were staying next to us limited out on Elmer's. They were in a boat near the area where they're working on the beach. They got as close as they could and were throwing in the first trough. I saw the fish. Definitely didn't need to measure!!!!! That was on Sunday morning. We stayed north of the island and finished with a like over 80 fish. Good sized trout.

Hope they don't. The trash that accumulates even now is appalling. Can't imagine what it was like during the peak season.

I drove the beach a few times from the road in to the pass and the trash wasnt bad most of what we picked up was flotsam. by not allowing camping and patrolling the beach there is not a lot of litter being left like there was at fourchon..

The wind was light out of the East when those guys caught the trout in front of Elmer's. We went back that afternoon and it had picked up out of the SE. A bit rougher and tough to hold position to hit the troughs. Headed back to the bay and found the trout again.

You are right trash everywhere dead fish left on the beach they atleast need 50 gallon barrels for people to put there trash in. They can at least use a tractor to rake up the debris that washes up time to time.
