those white pipes in the last pic. they have a nozzle on the bottom hooked to a big live well pump. when you catch small blackfin tuna stick them in there head first. blackfin are a good marlin bait. cant keep them in a regular livewell because they need a lot of oxygen to stay alive and the nozzle forces it through their gills.

Only if it meets a certain grade which in gulf waters is very hard to meet with the warmer water . Those prices are mainly from Atlantic caught BFT

Depends on who they sold it to. Not uncommon for blue fin to go for 800 to 1000 a.pound. someone comes and grades the meat to see what its worth. Gulf blues don't usually go as high as others but I.wouldn't doubt they got 200k for.that fish.

They have a probe called a sashibo they stick through the side of the fish to see if the meat is burnt. Usually if you exhaust a fish fighting it...the meat will be considered burnt and of lesser quality....you can tell by comparing color of meat variation from prob vs a cut from the tail

1.5 hours to land tge fish on rod n reel! Pretty fast is u ask me, didn't sell it . When I went with these guys they were pulling in YFT in the 100-120 # class in 5 min! Freaks of nature! Cranking on the reel with one hand and pulling in line with the other hand!
