![]() I was told to just keep it short and it'll die out, but after a year, that plan isn't working and it's spreading. |

We have killed it on roadsides with a wick It's taller than all the other grass so the herbicide gets in the johnsongrass only Mowing short isn't going to do anything. It has a pretty good root system I have had dallisgrass in my yard and used a sponge with herbicide and put it directly on the plant and had goodness success but this may not be feasible for you if you have a lot |

Check out Pastora made by DuPont or you can mix some roundup hot like 50/50, put a good rubber glove with a cheap cotton glove over the rubber one, dip the cotton glove wet and hand wick the Johnson grass. If your yard is covered with it, hand wicking might take a while, but it will kill it dead that way.

MSMA will get it too and leave Bermuda grass alone. For best results do two applications one very seven to ten days. I have a Bermuda grass runway and sprayed it yesterday with mama. Pastora will work too but use lots of water ( slow your speed down) for some reason it seems to work better that way if you can get liquid fertilizer to add to the tank it helps a lot. The fertilizer makes the plants grow , hence they take up the chemicals better.
