Default Hwy 82 South of Kaplan closed for repairs

Not sure if it was posted on here or not but Hwy 82 south of Kaplan is being repaved and 2 bridges are being replaced. It will be closed for 8 months from Gulfway south to before the new IC bridge. They only way down there is through Abbeville.

I had 3 people tell me this and I looked at the DOT website for a press release and I did not find one.

Actually it's on Hwy 35, the bridge is about 2 to 3 miles south of Gulfway

My brother works as a bridge supervisor for the state, told me the bridge in Perry, south of Abbeville on Hwy 82 will be out in either August or September, can't remember which for repairs for a couple of months.

It blows my mind how each year the major ways out of lower vermilion parish go under construction when we need them the most! In case of a hurricane evac. Seems like the perry bridge goes out every year about this time!

. Why would they Close the bridge in Perry at the same time as hwy 35. The traffic is horrible when the bridge in Perry is closed and that road along the bayou sucks bad with no traffic on it!
