Cheers Dream trip!

Had one of those trips we dream about to Grand Isle this weekend.
Got there Friday afternoon and hit a few spots along the hwy w/no luck.
decided to fish Elmers canal around10 pm. . Fished some lights at a friends house and had maybe a dozen decent trout and some real nice white trout. all caught drifting small plastics free lined on small hooks.
The tide stopped around 2 am and i decided to go to the hotel ,clean the fish and take a shower before bed.
Drove up to the cleaning table and when i got out of the car it sounded like pop corn being popped, The water was boiling w/ trout and shrimp trying to fly. Grabbed a rod tied on a spook jr. and it was ON.
Probably one of the top 3 fishing trips i have had in my life.
I am all by my self looking at 1/2 an acre of feeding frenzy.
EVERY CAST was mauled by trout.
Sometimes the fish would smash the spook 4 - 5 times before getting a hookup. I caught trout or got multiple blow ups on every cast until around 5:30 am.
3 hrs of trout carnage!!!
Went back Saturday night w/"H" and his buddy Lane and the fish were there and we caught a few .But they never did turn on.
For all of you that were at the S.C. gathering in G.I. I did it again.
2 days on the island, up over 24 hrs the first day and a total of 12 hrs sleep for the trip.
i don't know if i'll ever have a trip like that again?but i'll keep on dreaming!!!

Opportunity couldn't have happened to a better fellow. I know the blood must have been pumpin. We all dream of those days and I am glad you had yours. Now we need some recipes cause I know you'll be experimenting with some trout dishes.
