Usually any rig in 100ft or more holds big snapper. Out of Cameron that's a haul...

The harvest info from the fall season was higher then expected. Well according to noaa anyway.

You can start catching descent snapper about 30 miles out (normally not huge ones but you never know). The better snapper fishing is 50-75 miles sse of Cameron. I'm not saying that's the only places. Rig hop till you find what your looking for. There are many of underwater structure off Cameron as well. Go pick you up a Hilton atlas.

What kind of rig to you get?

We fish out of the Mermantau and we catch some pretty nice ones +/-40 miles out in 50'-70' of water.

Default & to ad insult to injury of OUR natural resource

Over fishing TAC this fall is news to me but I'm not surprise at all, could've predicted as well I guess...but $$$$$$$$$$ is what it's all about...if this hasn't been posted here yet, ck this B.S for a select few giving access to our natural resource whom selling their "charter soles" at the expense of all recreation fishermen.
