I have had the same $20 haydel's duck call since high school

well when you pay $200 plus dollars for a call, and the guts don't hold up for a whole season. You call them and they say nothing we can do about that, but you can purchase another call and we will ship it to you. Yeah i think customer service does play a part.

I would go with the Riceland for sure. I recently moved to Lake Charles in January and wanted to purchase and acrylic goose call. I sat with James and blew 20+ calls before deciding on the one that sounded best for me. James has an open door policy and will sit with you and help you learn to blow that call.

I emailed Redbone about a call before I decided on a Riceland and it took over 1.5 months to get a response. I called James and that day I was at his house picking out my call.

With all things being equal, people standing behind their product with great customer service, I choose Riceland.

why are you so against ducks/duck hunters? Did you have a bad experience with a duck or aflac?

I have been blowing James's calls ever since him and Nathan went seperate ways years ago... Redbone and Riceland are obviously very similar, but I have yet to find a call that is of better sound or quality than Riceland.. Yes you can kill specks with a lot of different calls but, you are not going to get the range of sounds with such ease in any other call than a Riceland. My vote goes to James and Bill for RCC..

now duck calls my favorite is still the dr85, but the bluewing teal calls i buy one every year, cause the guts just fall out of them. Their speck calls take alot of air and don't sound near as good imo.

Agreed. And I'm not sure how much a Riceland cost but I highly doubt its over 200, if they are even 200. And thats for the top of the line call. The poly sounds real good and is real cheap. But how hard is it to save 200 dollars from february to november?

I have had the same dr85 for close to 20 years, I took out the end and stuck it in an Olt barrel, because the DR barrel is a little too skinny. still going strong, and sounds great

I am not trying to get in an argument over anything duck related cuz people get butthurt so quick, and its August

its all good... everybody is intitled to there own oppinion... i grew up blowign dr85 but then I wanted to advance my skills and there is only so much you can do with a call like that... my opinion is that everybody blows different and have there own preference and from my experiences, calls are almost like anything in life, you pay for what you get...

that's what we're talking about! You're the one that said i was smoking to pay $200 for a goose call, and you just expect for me to keep my mouth shut you don't know me and that's not going to happen. It's my choice if i want to pay whatever for my equipment, and you have the right to your own opinion, but it's still my choice. I don't even denie that i spend alot of my hard earned money to duck hunt every year and if i don't kill a bird all year the next year i will do the same, cause there's more to it than killing a limit.
