The capes make excellent soft rugs and the meat is absolutely delicious if it is prepared properly. The trick to bear is to ensure it is caped out immediately and all the fat is taken off as soon as possible. The butcher has to ensure even more fat is trimmed off before packaging....absolutely delicious.

awesome... id love to try it one day.... I actually didn't have any idea that they were eaten. So I didn't actually support the killing of them. But my mind is changing.

Oh yeah for sure, if you ever get to try it make sure there isn't any fat on it as the fat is terrible. I have never eaten a bad piece if bear meat. Feel free to visit my web site at www.blackbearoutfitters.ca for lots of pics of bears, my camp, testimonials, and much, much more. Cheers and stay stay Rob

I just replied to thread I started under recipes which explains how to prepare one of my favorite recipes. If you ever get the opportunity to try bear follow the instructions and I guarantee you will be going back for seconds.
Cheers
