![]() I fish mainly in Prien lake and the southern end of big lake, My question is if it is worth it to spend the large amount of money to get a power pole. Seems like too much money when i can just use the trolling motor to stay in place or not be a retard and quietly use a anchor. How about you guys that have them, are you happy with them? And wile i am here do any of you know where i can order some 3" Berkeley ripple mullets? I catch most my fish on those, way more than the 4" alives, but they been on back order for a long time on cabela's and can't seem to find them anywhere else. I want one bad, but can't justify the money. I hang my anchor on a cleat over the side of the boat, when I catch a fish, just kick the chain and I am set.
I will say with my neck and back issues, I may get one though before it is all said and done. |

I use mine in Big Lake a good bit.
Can't find a place in Prien or Lake Charles that catches fish, and is less than 8' deep. |

Makesure you get the buttons you mount on the front deck for up/down functions. When you get a blow up and have to try and keep a tight line and mess with a remote it's tough. Remote is worthless really if you have the foot buttons, unless you are wading with the wind at your back. Then you can pick the pole up an let the boat follow you.

I have had both the Talon and Powerpole. Like these guys I would not have a boat without an anchor system. I will not buy another Talon, mine is in the shop right now which is the third trip...

You answered my question as well...I was just fixing to ask if anyone has had any experience with the Talon. I'm looking now, but don't want to fool with it if it's that much trouble. Guess Powerpole is the way to go...Thanks...

I have a Talon. It makes a lot more noise than the Power Pole. Power Pole is very quiet compared to the Talon.
Talon sticks down in the mud very good. But it sometimes needs help getting out of the mud. The motor is weak. Makes too much noise. I would not spend the money on a Talon again. |

Thanks for the input. Guess i will have to come off the cash and get one when i get back to the states. Well at least i got a week to decide where to have it put on at. I know i can do it myself, but this don't seem like something i want to fool with.

If you got access to an engine hoist it will take you about 2-3 hrs to do the whole thing. I did mine and its not hard at all, just a little time consuming.
