Default primitive hunt

Hunted primitive in No. La. this weekend. While I saw deer, all were smallish, but a buddy shot a nice wide 7 and another shot a 9. Nice to get out in the woods again.

Hunted this week. Plenty of small does, but no shooters until Wed. pm when a grandma, mom and daughter came out. Grandma is now in the freezer. Need another to make my annual allotment of sausage and ground meat. Life is good.

It is always good to put meat in the freezer.

Two weeks ago, I killed 2 nice hogs and then an hour later I spotted what looked like a small Doe. I had just about decided not to shoot.... but needed a better look at her. Several minutes passed without seeing anything. Then I caught movement only about 25 yards away. This turned out to be 25 to 30 lb fawn... no spots. While watch it come a little closer, Mama steps out. She looked to only be maybe 70 lbs. They walked within 10 yards of my tree, before she got nervous and walked off.

Good for you to let them walk.
