Default white oak, calceshue

looking to start up a little summer fishing on the river this weekend, has the water cleared up any? planning on doing a little pitching and probably spinner bait and topwaters

We boated 8 Saturday, and 7 of those 8 had crawfish in there belly. I would try some speedcrawls or a similar crankbait - dark colors.

Guy I work with said it was real bad till you get above Bayou Serpent. .. typical this time of yr due to farmers draining their fields

how far you run from white oak to get to bayou serpent? im pretty sure its north of so, right?

Bayou Serpent is actually decent to fish even if it's muddy but you need to find water draining out of a marsh...

just got on here, but might have actually seen you, we were in a blue bass tracker with a 60 merc, 2 fat kids and a older man, lol, we did pretty decent, you?

a lot of pickles as well, had 10 fish, one fish about 2 pounds, and a bunch of 11-13 inchers, still fun, any size limit out there? don't fish it much

After a little rain and then some wind out of the north just ride up Serpent and watch for cuts with black water coming out.... I haven't been in awhile but just take your time.
If you got way up the Calcasieu you will find pretty swift water, I have never done real well up there but have talked to people that catch well but you have to learn to fish that moving water

sounds good, im fishing a high school tourney in a couple weeks around there and trying to be as prepared as possible, plan on running even more north that last trip and fishing some cleaner water, hopefully try to find some moving as well
