Default End of the Month Report

Much of the same activity has been occurring since my last post. The reds have still been schooled up tight in the deep holes of the crooked bayous of lower Terrebonne Parish. Cracked crab is still the bait of choice and can be obtained at Jug's Boat Launch at the end of Bayou Dularge Road. I am using a pre-made 1 oz. carolina rig made by Billy Bundy of Houma. You can find his rigs in any gas station or marina south of Houma.

Many of these trips we've had to wait on the tide to get right as these reds have been really particular lately. If the current is moving too slow or too fast, they won't bite. It had to be just right. I expect this to remain the same until the first real cold front.

The speckled trout in the area have not made an appearance except for a few pee wee's we found mixed in with the ladyfish under some birds. After the recent cool fronts we've had I would expect them to show up any day now. The white shrimp are here and the salinity in the lakes is good.

October and November are great months for speckled trout and I am open most weekdays through those months.
