Prien Lake Park
It seems to me they really messed up the new ramp. Launched there Sunday with a high tide. Had to back truck way into water because ramp is not steep enough. It sure worked better before the parish dropped all this money.

I made a post about this on Facebook awhile back with pictures and videos to go along with it. The ramp itself is a fail. The launch angle is far too shallow. Many others have voiced their opinions in agreement also.

This boat launch was shallow before they "rebuilt" it and I thought I had read that making the launch deeper and steeper was part of the project. I guess there was no dredging done for this project.
I have not use this launch since it has reopened. Note: When the Moss Bluff River park launch was worked on a couple of years ago, they drove sheet metal to dam off the boat launch area. After the area was pumped dry..... it was dug out to create a big hole about 10 feet deep. Attached Images Last edited by Gerald; 06-22-2019 at 08:31 PM. |

this photo was taken last week 6/20/19. this poor guy has all four tires in the water. and it appears that his bumper and exhaust pipe are in water as well. not to mention, he couldnt get his boat off of his trailer.
this is a huge disappointment for everybody. i sure hope someone can push this up the chain and get this resolved. sorry i couldnt figure out how to rotate photo. IMG_2618.jpgIMG_2618.jpg |

Really a shame. I had always been impressed with the launches the parish built, Calc Point, the old Prien Lake launch etc.
