Default Help choosing maps for new Garmin

It's time to replace my old Garmin 192C and I have about decided on either the Garmin EchoMap 70dv or 70s. I need some experienced input on the best maps for the types of fishing I do. 75% of my fishing is in the Louisiana marshes where we fish in waters 2 to 3' deep and run in waters that seldom are deeper than 20'. The other 25% of my fishing is freshwater fishing for crappie in inland lakes. Depths seldom are over 40'.

The two Garmin units come with one of the following:
World Wide Base Map
Lake View HD
Blue Chart g2 Coastal Mapping

I would first like to know which of these three maps you think would be my best bet then I would like your advice on choosing another map to add to this unit. The maps that I have on my present unit are the US Topo maps plus the World Wide Base Map (I think). Both of these maps suck so I am hoping that the current maps are of a better quality than the ones that I purchased in 2006.

Any input you can offer will be greatly appreciated.

Charlie

My new boat came with a garmin 740 chart plotter/fish finder combo. I an looking at the blue chart g2 vision map upgrade. From reading the specs it will draw out a course to your way points base on the information you put in for your boat. It also has detailed pictures which you can access on your chart plotter for visual reference of marinas ad other stuff to aid in navigation. Haven't pulled the trigger on it yet, best price if have found so for on line was $259.00 at factoryoutletstores.com. It is the Garmin Blue chart g2 vision VUS036R, Inland Rivers. looks like it covers out ionto the gulf a way as well.

I have the same chart plotter (740). The inland rivers g2 is what you want. I used these maps on a friend of mine chart plotter and they're sweet. It gives you satellite imagery of marinas and passes to include any type of major intersections or high traffic areas.

Once you figure out all the features you will love it.
