WeNt make a quick trip after work today to turtle bayou. Picked up 6 small bass and a few perch. Wind had us going all over the place. Water was very clear.

My buddy fish there last weekend. The water was falling out te marsh when he went and he killed them. Like I said the win pushed us all over. Plus I think we were on high tide. I didn't check before I left. We fished any cut into the marsh we could find. That's were we caught all we did but everything was small

Thats my old stompin' grounds before I moved to Lake Charles about 8 years ago... We had a camp off of Palmetto and would fish down and back after launching out of Cannons... What an endless fishery...

No location canals on this end of the state (like over there) !!! Its taking some time to get tuned into this "river" style fishing...

Good luck, looks like the barge in Bayou Chene has saved the day as far as the flood goes down there...

yeah the water level is a little higher than normal but not too bad. i think if we would have hit it in the morning we would have done good. i cant wait to go back on a weekend and be able to take my time working certain areas. still re-learning some of the canals since i just got my last week. ben years since i fished that area.

I really like the School Board Canal area, and Orange Grove... We also used to fish Lake Theriot allot, which I think is now gated off...

Its been some time since I have been that way, but would like to hit it again...

Good to hear reports from that end...

Thanks,
Hydro
