Default 10-1-17 quick trout trip

Around 230 the saltwater itch finally got so bad I had to go scratch it, lol. Have been pulling white perch out of the tree tops up on Calcasieu and was ready for some trout. Had one fully charged trolling battery and the other not to good but headed for the point anyway. As I was launching the boat the live shrimp boat was just leaving so of course I grabbed some. Started fishing around 3-330. Had 5-6 keepers by 430 and then tide started haulin butt out of turners. Trout were everywhere in there. Wind was pretty strong out the northeast so just drifted from one side to the other and limited out by the time I hit northwest of turners up by the ship channel. Out of the water for 6 and back home before dark. Nice to see the lake getting back to normal and going to make a morning trip later this week. Good luck all
