Default Tom Hess Control Structure

This is on the Rockefeller Refuge, named for the Late Tom Hess Refuge Manager. It is the old LSU Structure

Launch at Joseph Harbor and go south for 3/4 mile and veer to the left.

Keep heading south for a little over 4 miles more and turn right [west]. This is about 1.5 miles past where the turn [to the east] to the "Cement", Mud hole and Ant pile weirs are located.

The cannel to the [LSU / Hess] dead ends at the weir. Caution, this cannel will be shallow if there is a very low tide or strong north wind.

Don't know about LSU/Hess, but the launch is fine. The Mudhole, however, is almost inaccessible if one wants to get to the grating on top of the gates. The walkway is severely tilted (but it was that way before Cindy).
