Big mistake by lsu getting rid oF Less.

you cant be serious, we've trended one direction the past 3 years, down..... and our weakness has been the same for much longer than that. I knew when Chavis left, our PG rated offense would really be exposed.

It was time for a change

Next on the chopping block should be-SEAN PEYTON! Another who's overstayed his welcome. Sure he brought N.O. a Superbowl win a few years ago, but since then, other than pointing fingers and placing the blame on everyone else-he should have been looking at himself in the mirror. I mean...look around the NFL today, still several players from the Super Bowl team still playing. He was too quick to get rid of key players IMO. This year...he's lost.

Default Really liked Les as a man...

but it was past time for him to go. I'm ready for a winner regardless of whether he's a nice guy or not. In fact, most of the great coaches like Belichek , Saban, Meyer, are not people you'd probably want to go out to a restaurant with. They simply win which is what they get paid for. Hopefully LSU can bring in either Herman or Fisher so they can become relevant in the SEC again. Certainly hope they're not just wanting to have Orgeron in as permanent HC once the season's over in order to save some money. Unless BeBe can run the table with the rest of the season I don't see that happening.

As for Peyton, I haven't liked the man after he came out against guns a while back. Needs to go live in Chicago, specifically West Englewood and we'll see how long he stays gunless.

i want to see a guy like chris petersen come to lsu. young guy, led boise state to all those victories over the pac-12, innovative, knows how to develop quarterbacks, great and imaginative play caller. if he can take boise state and make something out of nothing, he would be awesome with the talent that lsu has.

Doubt Peterson will come to the SEC. He's made it known more than once he doesn't care for the recruiting tactics ($) in the SEC. Jimbo will just use this to get another raise from FSU, I'm on the Herman train as well, but rumor is he likes the West Coast and USC will be looking. The guy I would like to see if the top guys everyone is talking about don't come is Kyle Whittingham at Utah. His 9-1 bowl record is a pretty good record. His record is 99-46 at Utah, but we're talking about Utah, they have to sell the Los Angeles/Cali recruits into leaving the beach and coming to Mormon land for 4 years. So he basically gets leftovers. It'd be like a coach at Kentucky/Vandy going 99-46 in the sec. It'd be unheard of. Innovative offensive mind being an Urban Myer protege, tough, sound defense. Dude can coach. Currently making 3.3 a year. I know LSU is broke and majority of the next coaches salary will come from boosters, but for a Jimbo or Herman you'll be looking at 5.5-6.5 a year to get them.

Miles was just stubborn and couldn't change his style of football and coaching. SEC football had left him and his coaching style behind and he couldn't or wouldn't see it.
As for saban , Bama would tear down the statue of Bear Bryant before they let saban leave.

I just love how they keep trotting people out of the wood work who act like Les Miles was the second coming of Bill Belichick and LSU was making a "snap" "emotional" and wrong decision in letting him go lol.

most of these "pundits" look only at the win loss record without ever taking it into context that since Nick Saban took les miles mojo away for good in the second meeting of that season back in 2011 and since then he has been nothing more then a lame duck coach who "just wants to have fun", rather then try to win championships.

they also fail to grasp or even understand that LSU has gotten considerably worse and worse each year despite have the best talent in the country on the team except at quarterback which was by design since Les Miles does not want a passing attack style team so he only recruits running quarterbacks and if he has a passing quarterback they are just there to ride the bench so obviously these guys have no clue about the state of LSU football to be making their "assumptions".

remember ZACK METTINBURGER? he only was allowed to play because of injury and when he "lit it up" throwing the ball les didn't want him to be the quarterback but had no choice because Mettinburger had showed the world he was a damn good quarterback who can throw the ball around pretty good. if it were up to miles and he could get away with it he would have put Jarret Lee or Jordan Jefferson back in because they are more "his style" quarterbacks who run first and only throw "once in a while"
