Default Bait Contraband Bayou

Anyone been behind water plant to catch shad lately. I went two months ago and they were too small

Plenty of bait at island and in ship channel. No need to run to 18th street. Another place that usually holds bait is the pocket at I-210 launch

They grow fast..... should be much bigger now.


When they are small [less than 3/4 inch] I put 2 or 3 on the hook. Works for me.

Caught bait at outflow in contraband Friday. Pogies kind of small though, most 3".
If anyone knows where to god bigger pogies id appreciate any help.

All the perfect size pogies u want inside prein lake boat launch. Always best to get there at dark before other boats move around. Had more than enough bait but fish would not bite today. Back to Turners or black lake in am

The fish have not been cooperating very well since friday. Things should really turn around with this weather change coming
