Default Toledo Bend 2-14-18

Went up to the camp Sunday to stays a few days with my dad. We get there and water pipes busted at 2 of the 4 travel trailer hookups and at both of the cabins. We get all that fixed by Monday afternoon and start unloading all the Fire wood we took up. Finally that evening we put boat in water and it won't run. We spend the rest of that day and all the next working on it. Wednesday 2-14-18 we finally got it to run after replacing some filters and getting all the water out of the tank and head out. Starts raining as soon as we get out there, lol. We did get to fish a couple hours later in the day. 11 Crappie and 3 bass. Hasn't turned on there just yet but it's about to. We were fishing just outside shadows landing area and water was clean there but in salters and negreet was muddy muddy muddy!!! Water temp was 49.7 that morning and up to 51 that afternoon. I can't wait to get back up there. My first trip there since 2012 but I'm gonna be up there more this year! Hated to have to come back.

I am dreading our first trip up there. I KNOW some pipes will have busted. They never have before, but this winter was a doozy up there.
Glad you caught some good fish.

neighbors camps had busted water lines. Two are repaired and one to go fix. I went last saturday and water was muddy in housen area. Fished in muddy water till 10 am and went and found some clear water and caught a few keepers before we left at noon. There was a high school tourney out of Fin and Feather and big high school tourney that trailered out of San Miquel. I only had this chance to go because of CT hand surgery yesterday but saw why i usually go during the week.
The fish we caught were in 8-12 ft of water on brush hogs. Saw 2 small fish caught shallow. Water had came up 2 1/2 ft last week and probably more now.

Thanks for your report. I wish my high school had a fishing club back then.
