Default Rock and Roll 3/14/2017

Cold/Gusty North Winds. After 2 days of North winds, I had hoped for some decent beach water....Nada, it was mucho chocolate.
All tidal inland waters were also very muddy. Only 1 other boat at the landing.

Fished almost all day. Caught 5 Reds, 2- Sheephead, 1 flounder and about 1-1/2 dozen Med-Large Crabs on fishing bait and pole.
For the crabs, just reeled them in slow and netted them at the boat. Had a couple Bull Redfish break my line. Used fingerling mullet,
2" croakers(caught with castnet) and frozen shrimp. Fish responded "best" during dropping tides.

I'd call that a "win". Nice job.

Beach was too muddy to even consider. Find the best water you can and be patient.

Good luck. Please post a report on FWC. I'd check the satellites before heading that way.....unless, wait a minute, Fontenot is a Cajun name, there may be a couple spots.... :-)

Okay, will talk it over with a buddy of mine who is coming along, I've caught at the beach and at the weirs at Joseph harbor. South wind starting today, water will clear up by Saturday. I was going way inland at FWC for big blue cat and reds. The harbor or rollover sounds better to me! more potential to catch ANYTHING!

Performed a complimentary crab catching tutorial yesterday for a "civilized city girl". The hardest part
was teaching her to get the net under the crab-s before trying to scoop them up. She kept asking me to
stop criticizing her for all the crabs that escaped the netting. Overall, in hindsight, she did very well, and was a good sport.
She did comment, several times, that she could have performed better had I not acted like an a-hole.
