Default Who Can Relate?

Ok I figure most all of us that fish have a person or two that we pass along fish to when we have more than enough for ourselves. It's good not to be greedy but it really gets under my skin when said person/persons starts placing an order for their free fish. Last week I was told by a certain someone that they wanted a catfish of a certain size and today I was told by another someone that the fillets I give them need to be bigger than the ones I have been giving. My response to both? GO BUY YOUR OWN GEAR AND START FISHING.......

I always used to get the ole "man if u ever got any fish you don't want drop em by the house I'll clean em" leave a couple chests full of uncleaned reds on their porch. They'll stop asking.

That's no joke TD. Cleaning a red (especially a bull) is work. People just don't know what they are asking for when they expect cleaned and bagged fish. It's not like we fish because it's cheap and saves $.

I just grin and move on......too many people out there DO appreciate the offers......

years ago I lived between my grandmother and her sister. I was young and fished literally every weekend (note to newlyweds, do not do this).......I would make small quart sized bags for maw maw and Tootsie her sister, my nannie.

They kept up a huge garden, so they always dropped of fresh tomatoes and cucumbers in trade.......

Mam I loved them women......we played boorais for kitchen matches more than a few nights

This is very true. Sharing and giving is wonderful. I was just a little ticked that some act like I'm running a FREE fish market. When we are blessed with an abundance we love to give away the extra. We are not greedy when we are blessed as we are both firm believers in karma. When we had chickens we would bring the extra eggs to work and had a sign for $1.50 a dozen. If someone wanted to buy a dozen the eggs were given to them for free. You can just imagine what would happen if you had a sign for free eggs.

Don't give em another fish ever!! They will learn a lesson. They will figure it out shortly that soon as they stopped being thankful, they stopped getting fish.

Burn up a filet knife and learn to be thankful. Tough love.
