Default 3-25-16 Cypremort Point-The Bad

Well, to be honest I like to report the good and the bad...so everyone gets a sense of how the bite is going. My wife and I were able to fish together for the first time in about 2 years and that is about what it was...fishing. In total we caught maybe 5 trash fish (2 of which were stingrays). I expected dirty water with a light wind, but we arrived and found a constant stiff wind, dirty water, and cold, cold water (unexpected). Needless to say we could not find anything biting with those conditions and the lack of ability to go all over looking because of the wind. I saw probably 3 times the amount of boats from 3 weeks ago and would like to know if anyone had more success than us. All in all, it was very nice to have some time on the water with my wife and live the dream of fishing. Next time fish, next time

I was out there on 3/25. Weatherman called from 6mph winds but it was blowing steady 15+ and the usual - fresh muddy water. I didn't feel like crossing to marsh island so we fished close. Dropped anchor on a point blocking the wind and soaked shrimp. The bite was slow but we managed to catch a couple.

Great Job in those conditions! Thanks for sharing your report.

Guys.. I was raised in New Iberia, and fished the Point growing up.. Just a thought about fishing the point this time of the year. With all the rain, and bad weather.

If U want to catch fish...... Cross to Marsh island. Period. U will find fishable water everywhere. Some deep water.. Just my opinion...

I did the same on the 26th in marsh island. I went in the morning since the tide would start to drop around 9. Daughter cancelled on me so i took my dog. It was cool, wind was constant and overcast. Fished bayous Chene, Michael and Lucien without a fish (artificial only though). I didnt see many fish in the depthfinder so i basically idled bayou Michael and tried again in Lucien. Left at noon and tide was just starting to drop.

I should have waited until the afternoon to go.
