Last minute trip Monday evening/early Tuesday am. If I'd looked at the tue forecast I'd probly cancelled. Water in lake Mechant was fresh, at least on top. Wind picked up- no lie - 15 min before I arrived on location at 5:00.
But the stretch was protected and first real cast was a 20 incher on topwater (bone super spook, jr) so pretty hard to top that. Put a few in the box and sun came out. Scratched around to put nine box before sunset.
Next morning was better but took a little time to put together the puzzle. Fish were a little smaller, but ended up with (2) 19 inchers on a mirrodine to with 16 others. A lot of the had eggs so they'll be slowly be making their way south over the next month. Superb trip.
