Default VBay 8/31 and 9/2

8/31, tough day, tide was crap and caught only rats and hardheads. everything was small. i Hit the pass and a few spots outside, tide had stopped. water was clean, mid bay, as usual i shoulda stopped and fished there but didnt. Water was clean outside too but nothing.

Buddy went east and had the same luck, all small.

Not to be outdone i went the afternoon of 9/3 to weeks bay. The north wind kept the tide moving but nothing was biting. quickly realized the inevitable and went home.

Hope others had better luck.

My plan was to try the reefs outside the pass... After getting on the water and seeing the angry winds, I decided to stay inside marsh island. Fished bayou Michael, platte, and bird island with not one single red boated... couldn’t even get hardheads to bite lol Was supposed to be a hard falling tide but we never saw it.

Caught three slot reds in the pass yesterday, fished the reefs on the west side using market shrimp under a cork. Tried Tete Butte also with no luck.

Went 9/2 and got a late start because of broken trailer lights. Fished way inside the island, lots of bait but no bites and no tide. Got chased out by weather so went to weeks bay and picked up two decent reds within 30 minutes of each other....right in the middle of when solunar charted highest activity.

Ditto for us. Was going to try Tbutte, but winds and dirty water nixed that so tried Lake Tom, dirty, dirty. Tried a couple of other MI bayous, nutting so went to Weeks Bay and ended up with one keeper red and one rat red. Heat was too much so headed home.
