Default Rollover Crabs

I took my son Sunday to Rollover and we found the crabs at the big weir. Caught 12 dozen in the strong current on turkey necks. Was using 3 drop nets. When we put our nets in calm water nothing. Had to be strong current. We were catching up to 13 at a time. Crazy for January 4.

Tried to fish but crabs would jump on the shrimp. Caught a few rat reds by a flume by the launch. No keepers.

Default good "intel"

thanks for the report. I am also surprised that you did so well on the crabs. Normally, by this time, they are sucking up mud trying to keep warm. Good to know that is not always the case.

BTW, any size to them?

Medium to large. A few jumbos but a lot of throw backs.
