Sometimes my son gets frustrated when I ask him multiple times if his gun is unloaded and make him check the chamber again in front of me. He is 19 years old and I'm still always asking. I told him when he has a child one day, he will understand. You just cant be too careful.

There have been many people shot or killed by an "unloaded gun", if you know what I mean....

we have rem 700 30-06's that have been in our family for a long time (oldest one was originally my great grandpa's). And my grandpa and my dad have theirs as well. Never an issue. would have to guess that newest one is still pre 1980.
