Default Grand isle lights

Going this weekend in kayaks with the son. Is there anywhere that has lights I can get to by kayak to fish at night for specks. Has anyone ever tried it at night from a yak. I know there were some places by where cigars use to be by the rocks with lights kinda on that corner but is there anywhere over there to slip a yak into the water. I surely don't wanna paddle across the bay at night. And is there any certain regulations on having lights on a kayak at night. I am new to this kayak fishing

Look at the Kayak Launch by WLF at the end of Ludwig Dr.

There are dock lights at WLF and by some of the camps east toward Pelican Point. Maybe a one mile paddle tight to GI. Best check your route by day first.

There is boat traffic around GI at night, so you need to be well lit up, as no one will be looking for a yak at night.

Call Capt Danny Wray at Calmwater charters if you need some guide help. Danny runs Kayak and boat charters out of Calmwater Charters. http://www.calmwatercharters.net/#!f...charters/c24i2

Other night options might be the camp lights around Port Fourchon, or around Sand Dollar and paddle over to the CG station and Amaris - just stay a respectful distance away and off of their property. Common sense stuff.

Thanks for the info. I didn't even think about sand dollar and the cg station.
Do any of yall know if there is anywhere to launch over by where the old Cigars marina was. I know they got a tin of lights there. I ve limited out there several times at night but I was in my bayboat boat.

The old cigars is all private lots now . closest would be bridge side and a paddle around the point.
