Default Sherburne WMA Firing Range

Does the Sherburne WMA have a decent pistol and/or rifle range I can use in lieu of joining Hunter's Run in Port Allen or Palo Alto in Donaldsonville? Although a bit of a drive from Port Allen area to Donaldsonville, PA's memberhship cost isn't too bad. To me, Hunter's Run $250 initially plus $200 annually plus $5-10 per day seems a bit high for what is provided. Or am I misjudging HR?

I shoot at sherburne all the time, the pistol range is ok, it a out door range, its free, not that many people use it, the rifle range stays busy every weekend starting now till november. I go out there and test my reloads.

The rifle range is always busy and only goes up to 100 yards and the pistol range always seems to be empty. Not a bad place for free though!!

If you shoot skeet ,trap and sporting clays the HR price is not bad . But just to use the range it's G.P. High.

Good deal. I enter from Hwy 190 and didn't know they reopened it. That road was washed out pretty bad after the flood.

I use the sherburne range to check my rifle and I have used the pistol range.

If you are sighting in a rifle......need to bring your own rest and targets. They have conrete benches and folding chairs. Targets are moveable. 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards.

Please help to keep the range clean...... most people don't.

If the range is crowded get ready to be painted with a muzzle a few times, go early in the AM if it's a weekend

Thanks everyone. I am driving down from VA for late Sept into Oct for squirrel season. Now I know what to bring. I'm looking forward to my eventual permanent relocation in the Port Allen/BR area.
