Ok today I got into my s X s and when I got in the pond or really right before I locked it in 4wd and differential light came on as usual. To do this you have to push the 4wd button down flip the middle switch over that button and then it reveals another buttons that says lock and unlock. Well I get out and do the opposite like I do everytime ad put it in reverse and then back up a bit then back to high and the red light in the pic usually goes off. This time it didn't and now here are the questions followed by pics:

1. What the heck is going on?
2. Will it hurt anything by riding in high with it still engaged?
3. Anyone know how to fix it or something to try?
4. I can tell its not a false reading because it's hard to turn like a truck that's in 4wd.
