Default Nikon scope warranty

Anyone have experience sending a Nikon scope back to get "repaired" under warranty? How long did it take and did they repair it or just send back a new one?

I sent my scope back last week and they got it Thursday after lunch. I have not heard anything from them. Thinking about giving them a call this afternoon to see if I can get some information.

I got an email this afternoon from Nikon.

It said the work was covered under warranty and there was no charge.

Also said no further action was required by me.

No futher information given on the status.

If I don't get a "shipped" notice by tomorrow......guess I will call them.

I may never know.

I had only used the rifle and scope about 4 times and I don't think it had any marks on it....still like new.

When I do get it (?) back.....should I test it with a sprinkler to see if it fogs up?

Update.....I did not check yesterday.

Computer status said "in Shop" on Wed.

I called just now.......and was told that the scope was sent to Shipping this morning and would ship out on MONDAY?????? I asked why it was not shipped today and was told that with the volumn of shipping that they do.....it would [probably??] not go out until Monday.

I was told that I should get it by Wednesday. If that is true....it will be 2 weeks for them to get it back to me after they recieved the scope.
