I think they use those for airplanes...

I would not buy any marine electronics refurbished. Especially off of the internet. You are not going to be happy when you have to send it off and are without it for over a month and then have to pay for it to be repaired along with shipping. Do not cut corners on your electronics you will regret it! I would also buy the extended warranty is they offer one.

Outdoor gear including electronics for the most part is absolutely a "buy quality and cry once" purchase. But realistically for running around big lake you don't need a 12 inch chartplotter/sounder/wifi/twin turbo/dual exhaust/xm, etc, etc, LOL

sulphite, they dont list the prices for the airplane models, guess the old saying about "if you have to ask....." is true

Here is a website for a very reputable company. The guy that runs it is named Jim and he will match prices. There are a lot of people that talk very highly of him.

I have a 476c like that. Its a great little unit,I got the bluechart chip with it.Very nice, but found the screen too small to view very well while I was running. Had it mounted on the dash. Upgraded last year to the 4208. NOw its like watching tv. lol

I got a 1 year free and extra 2 for $50..thought Garmin.... 100% covered...... Refurbished is just as good as new...., If you think about it... they go though the whole thing again and fix any problems.....Better than getting a new one and having to send it off.... Bass Pro wanted 1000 plus tax for the same on I got for half price

I got a Hummingbird that came with my boat. It is not near as good a unit as the Garmin.
I have a floating waterproof hand held Garmin that I use on my big boat. I can plug it into a laptop and download maps or input locations or routes. Much more better than the kind I have on my fishing boat.
I don't think you can go wrong with Garmin.
